language ville is a school i often go to for long discussions about english literature with one of my former english teachers (actually, the one i had in my last year of studying english), who has helped me a lot with my proficiency cpe exam and with whom i stayed very good friends. language ville or “lv”, as we call it, is her school and when she rented the property, she took with already accommodated “guests” - a cat. a lovely, friendly, sweet cat, which she, of course, kept at the school and said she would be the school’s mascot. so, this is her, la chatte :)
completely. forgotten. about. this. this is what i always get when i “clean” my folders - stupid random stuff i totally forget about - like this absolutely random collage that i made on an absolutely random day last summer, when i discovered i had a functional webcam on my laptop. enjoy the retard faces :P
christmas biscuits
last christmas, after long discussions with my mother and our friend, a., we finally decided we would make special presents this time. and i had previously seen some winter biscuits recipe and also something for a chutney, so that was it. here are some snaps of the biscuits, which came out brilliant! but the best part was that there was team-work involved and it was so much fun cooking with my mom and a. :)

my dog is such a spoiled brat - just look at her!
pano in konstanz is one of the best conceptual coffee shops/tea-rooms/pastry shops i’ve ever been to. the atmosphere was fantastic; it was freezing cold outside and we went inside not so much because we wanted to have a break, but because we were desperate for refuge. and it turned out to be all for the best. everything is so warm there, the drinks, the people, the lighting; and there are all sorts of people who come to pano: couples who share a dessert, friends who gather over a cup of tea, kids with their families for a hot chocolate or working people who go there for lunch. what’s more, inside you can find all kinds of cute little things - vases, flower pots, baskets, recipe books for sale (i found one with recettes du petit prince - maximum cuteness!). and what i thought was the best feature of the place was the enormous wooden table in the center of one of the two rooms, around which everybody wants to sit (3rd photo). i found it quite hard to choose something from the menu, but eventually i got a tuna sandwich with ruccola and grilled vegetables and a nice big hot spiced latte from their selection of winter specialties, which was impressive btw! but of course, i couldn’t help it and i wanted to have a bit of what the others got, too, so i also got a taste of the poppy seed cheesecake, the potato salad and the carrot juice. all delicious, as you might expect. definitely a place to come back on my next visit in konstanz :)
winter holidays in switzerland
last year’s winter holidays we had sort of a family gathering at my aunt & uncle’s in neuhausen, switzerland. first, a short introduction to neuhausen, to make easier to understand my next-to-be-mentioned trips: it’s a tiny little town in the schaffhausen kanton in a very northern point of switzerland, really close to the border with germany. i had the lovliest time, as i got to bond with my family, but especially with my cousin, with whom i hardly ever get to spend any time. anyways, it was the best christmas i’ve had in so many years :)

~this fella right here was having quite an attitude towards me

~the break at pano, which will be detailed in the next post

~the lady guarding the harbour

~i found this funny because in latin it means “we have a pope”, but in my language, it would look more like “we have food” (papam - food)

~me in the harbour again, with my eyes closed as usual; even though the sun was pretty shiny that day, i do have a habit of posing as crap
~the grand cathedral of zurich (yes, moving on); i felt like shooting something a bit “darker”, somewhat goth. hope i nailed it :D

~it was the time of the christmas fair (obviously) and i was literally lured by all the little wooden stands offering hot christmas punch (red wine, rum, citrus juice and spices), raclette - melted swiss cheese served with pickles - and sweets of all kinds. :)

..and for an end, just take a look and feel, inhale the spirit of the holidays taking place in one of the best countries of them all, switzerland. amazing.
s’agapo greece
my trip to santorini last september was one of my best holidays yet - relaxation to the max, great comfort food and as much tan as i could get! :) you get the picture yourselves:

…greece is the one travel spot that i’ve been to more than 10 times and i haven’t got bored of it, i think because it’s like a second home for me, and you never get bored of going home, right?
since the schools in the most part of the country are closed these days because of the extreme weather conditions (super heavy snow), i, too, stayed home this tuesday. and for me, long mornings mean indulging: a hearty breakfast, delicious hot drink, and maybe a french film. today it was all about french toast (or eggy-bread, however you want to call it). first i prepared a savory version with goat cheese, served with ham and swirls of honey on top - brilliant - but not as fabulous as the sweet version: cinnamon and nutmeg buttery bread with caramelized apples as topping. the yumminess made me roll my head backwards, righteously! oh, and the film that ended the treat was peindre ou faire l’amour. quite a way to start a day :)
a little something with me and my lad, a funny webcam capture that was taken as part of a social game at an event we took part in recently.
i told you i would reveal some of the awesome gifts that i received for my 18th birthday. i don’t usually brag, but these were over the top, i couldn’t help myself! :D
here, i’ve only photographed only some: a couple of fabulous bible-cookbooks with my favourite types of recipes - based on cheese and pastries - (that i’ve already started to test), a diy kit for pralines, a set of silicone tins for cupcakes and muffins, a funky clutch, a fancy blair waldorf-style headband (they know how i love gossip girl hihi), a queer wrist watch that’s got an iris as the picture on the display (not really visible in the photo, but you can see it better here), a super-cute make-up set, a one-of-a-kind statement necklace and…YES - the new iphone 4s, which came with a lovely handset, so retro :) oh, and one thing more, that absolutely blew my mind: a perfume from an exquisite, exclusive perfume boutique; it’s part of a line called histoires de parfums, it’s called 1969 and it represents the sexiness of that year, the revolution of sensuality. i got it from my boyfriend (i’m the luckiest girl ever, i told you), who remembered how fascinated i was by the my first visit to that boutique. the scent is a mix of vanilla, peach, white musk, coffee, rose and chocolate. indescribable! check out their website, the guys are fantastic :) anyways, amazing presents! i’m so grateful for all of them, i just couldn’t thank enough.
today i felt a bit low because of the weather - it’s been snowing like crazy over here and everything is freezing and dirty (yuk) - so i made myself a vitamin & fiber shake to tone me up a little. i had some not-so-fresh-and-crunchy blueberries, so perfect for smashing, and also some delicious bananas, so blueberry-banana it was. in the end i added a bit of freshly grated ginger just to make a bit tangy, and the bad mood just evaporated! :)
the 18 moment
i know i said my birthday was last week, more exactly seven days ago, but i only now got round to post some snaps from the party. you won’t tell from the pictures just how great it was, but, i’m telling you, it was the best anyone could’ve ever had. and i this is the exact reason for why they are so few - because we were too busy partying like fuck :) (i’m guessing it’s my first time when i use the “f” word on my blog, but hey! i’m not underage anymore, right? :D)

however, given the occasion of this post, i am also going to thank some very extremely important people in my life, so here it goes:
to my family, who made this moment happen in the most special way possible, and without whom i would be nothing and nowhere right now…

to my mother particularly, because she pushes me so hard all the time and sets me on the right way…

to my most lovely friends…

to my coolest sexiest girls…

to those who danced…

…and to those who got crunked :))…
to all of my guests, who made the cake moment the most awesome one…

…and to the cake makers (Chocolat), who obviously did a terrific job, judging by my face in following snaps - i know i’m horrible, but i was too funny not to post these; i could have made an effort to at least look good in my pictures, but NO! i had to let everybody know how much i loved the cake, the camera included :))

and finally, to the best boyfriend any girl could have, my knight in shining armor - B. - who stood there for me, right besides me, every step of the way. i love you, handsome!

~~in a following post: the most amazing presents i got for my birthday! :)
